Chapter 1 January

Honoro Vera: Garnacha

Rating: 8.8 Value: + Price: $7.50

This wine is simply good – it has a nice bite on the front end, and fades nicely leaving a satisfying aftertaste. When I taste this wine, there are no ifs, ands, or buts about it. This tastes how I think wine should taste.

  • Incredible value
  • Big taste
  • Wow factor

Waterbrook: Malbec

Rating: 8.0  Value: Price: $13.97

This wine was very fruity and satisfying. Much like the 1999 Grammy award winning hit single by Santana (ft. Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty) this wine left a very smooth aftertaste. Unlike that hit single, we will keep coming back to this one.

  • Smooth finish, feels good on the tongue
  • Thick
  • Fruity, with not much bite

Woop Woop: Cabernet Sauvignon

Rating: 7.0 Value: = Price: $10.99

Just a good wine – It’s about what we look for in a 10 dollar Cab. It has some good initial bite that is not overpowering, that fades into a good fruity flavor. You could do a lot worse than this solid choice.

  • Easy-drinking
  • Fruity/juicy
  • Solid value

Horse Heaven Hills: Red Blend

Rating: 6.8 Value:  Price: $10.99

Another fruity wine without much bite on the tongue. This one was not super remarkable, other than being a decent wine for 15 bucks. We liked it, but after having tasted better wines for less money, this is not one of our top recommendations.

  • Boring
  • Fruity
  • Boozy
